One of the reasons I decided to stay with the 6psi setup as opposed to the 8psi is because I felt there is very little risk of detonation. That is why I didn't even think about getting the J&S with the 6psi setup.
Although you say the kit comes pretty safe, don't you feel that there is a little more power availabe to be squeezed out of it? I'm actually not concerned with the "safety" of the kit since I know it's pretty safe, but I am conerned about getting every single horse I can out of it.
Does the JR FPR allow for fine tuning very much or is an aftermarket FPR better?

OK guys. Thank you for your replies to my other thread about King. I've talked to an authorized JR distributor in my area who is going to do my install. They've done a ton of installs so I know they won't have any problems BUT THEY DON'T DO ANY TUNING WHATSOEVER!!!
Talking to them on the phone, they said that the SC kit comes "pre-set" and therefore they don't tune it at all. Now I know this isn't right. And therefore, I beseech Lundgren, MrRogers, and especially JRCivic, and everybody else that has experience with this to PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME THE TUNING PROCESS OF THE 6PSI SETUP AFTER INSTALLING THE SC.
Please e-mail me, reply to this post, or whatever you want but I desperately need to know how to do this.
The shop doesn't hook the car up to any guages so I'm going to put in the boost, A/F ratio, and fuel pressure so I can do this right. I talked to them and told them there definitely does need to be some tuning. They told me they'd work with me to tune it. The problem is, I don't know jack!!! I will take everything you guys tell me and tune my car accordingly.

Really at 6psi the kit comes set to be pretty safe as long as you follow the basics.
Premium gas, 7-10BTDC timing, and use of the JR relay make for a fairly safe(rich) combo.
I would highly recommend the J&S more for a safety net in case of failure of a component more then a performance mod although you may be able to run more advanced timing with it.
Think of it as engine insurance for someone who doesn't have all the meters and gauges.
I personally would get some sort of A/F meter (maybe on the J&S, two birds with one stone) and a fuel pressure gauge. But if it were up to me all cars would come from the factory with them and others
.
Without these you really don't know what is happening inside and risk damaging conditions without even knowing.
I would say the main thing to check after the install is to make sure the JR FPR is set correctly since mine and a few others seem to have been off from the factory, which could be due to altitude, etc.
Also, make sure you get the colder plugs.
My opinion.
